Paizley Pawz is an American artist, sculptor, and dollhouse miniature hobbyist who has designed and shared step-by-step DIY tutorials and projects for customizing plastic animal models since 2011. In other words, a crazy 'plastic surgeon' who radically transforms commercial plastic & resin model animals manufactured by companies like Schleich, Safari, Papo, Mojo, CollectA, NewRay, Breyer, and Falcon Miniatures.
For over a decade, Paizley Pawz has shared these transformations in the form of DIY (do-it-yourself) tutorials and BEFORE & AFTER photos showcased on the website - PaizleyPawz.com
Although hardcore collectors do not always like to see a 'collectible' plastic model 'frankensteined', it is encouraging to see the many individuals who have used these techniques to successfully make their own "furry custom model animals". No worries my collector friends, as I get bored easily and only 'reduex' one model, put it up for sale on ebay or etsy, and move on to the next (no repeats here).
NOTE: Technically speaking, these customized wooly animal models could be marketed as one-of-a-kinds (OOAK) due to the amount of modifications required in producing each finished product -- but it's best practice to be straightforward (and respectful) to give credit to the original company who produced the base model used in these inspiring transformations.
Oh, one more thing: IF you feel compelled to grab a scalpel and carve on a plastic model, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL!!! You could end up with a sliced finger or two requiring stitches or worse! BTDT
